A$130.00

Saturday 1 June, 2024. 10.30am-12.30pm

Join us at the beautiful Will & Co HQ in Bondi for this two hour Introduction to Handbuilding Ceramics workshop! Make your own coffee cups to enjoy every day.

This workshop will give you an introduction to working with stoneware clay and in particular the techniques for making pinch pots. Catherine from Splendid Wren Ceramics will guide you through making two pieces of your choice such as a coffee cup, bowl, vase or small planter. The first pot allows participants to get a feel for the clay - pinching and shaping it and then, once they are feeling more confident, the second piece will be from a slightly larger ball of clay.

PRICE:
$130 per person
Price includes Will & Co coffee on arrival, tuition as you create your work, one kg of stoneware clay per person and the glazing and firing of the work made from that clay. Work will be available for collection from Will & Co a few weeks after the workshop. all materials will be provided – the clay, the tools and examples of shapes. After the workshop Catherine will take away the pieces for drying then bisque firing to 1000 degrees, glazing and the final glaze firing to 1260 degrees. We will use a lovely speckled clay and all pieces will be glazed in a white glaze.
